  • Dixon, Franchitti To Drive Second Ganassi Prototype At Mazda Raceway

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Aug. 26, 2013) – Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) and Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron, Inc. company, announced today an addition to their sponsorship by fielding a second Daytona Prototype (DP) in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Sunday, Sept. 8 (5:00 pm ET, FOX Sports 1). The No. 02 Dinan-Prepared BMW will return to action for a third time in 2013 (Rolex 24 At Daytona, Brickyard Grand Prix) but will now include the Target Chip Ganassi Racing IZOD IndyCar Series duo of Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti. - See more at: http://www.grand-am.com/News/GA_News....gvvUZ6PH.dpuf
That's going to be on Fox Sports 1 on what looks like a 30-minute delay.

Grand-Am website says the broadcast will be live.

Its always cool to root for Indycar drivers in sports cars, even if they run for the evil empire... . Of course, this is really just a strategy call for the championship. Telmex Ganassi are chasing, and getting a second car in the mix to take points away from other teams if they can is exactly what they need, and what Dixon/Franchitti will be doing. Let's just hope they do it the right way, and not the the Juan Pablo Montoya way, who would come in and bash up the competition all over the track.

Cessna as a "sponsor" eh! My guess is Chip doesn't pay for his private planes in INDYCAR, NASCAR, & Grand Am!!!

          Technically it says this:
          RACE DATE/TIME:
          Sunday, September 08, 2013 4:30 PM ET
          DURATION:
          2 Hours 45 Minutes
          BROADCAST INFO:
          September 8, 5:00PM ET, FOX Sports 1
I've seen broadcasts being called "live" if the delayed broadcast starts before the end of the event, and a 30-minute delay really isn't worthy of calling "same day delay" either. Ah, and the DirecTV guide now has it as a three-hour slot starting at 5pm.

            Laguna Qualifying

Oh, they apparently delayed the race start by half an hour and the broadcast is now live-live.

Dario qualified P4, 0.276 behind the pole of Westbrook. He also out-qualified Rojas in P7 by 0.11. Heh, P5 is C. Fittipaldi, and P6 is Bourdais. Just funny seeing all those names together and they'll all be starting together too.

Heh, so Dario's first time ever in a DP not at Daytona and he's surprised by the downforce they put on the car for Laguna:
