  • Where were all the cars?

35 cars over 4 classes? What happened to all of the interesting sounding announcements in the off season? Kind of anticlimatic I thought.

If the premier open wheel event was a multi-class structure there would be 100+ entries - IndyCar, ProSeries, Star Mazda and BMW would actually push 120 probably.

Honest post - I really expected to see a fair number of cars. I thought 35 across 4 classes to be a bit silly. 35 in 4 classes makes 20 in one class look really, really good. And 20 in one class never looks good.

Amen to that. I went to two sprint car races this weekend. One had 52 cars from as far away as Washington and the other had 36 cars from as far away as Oklahoma. Both were great shows. The first one was a half mile and the second one a quarter.

To me for a road course race to be great they need LOTS of cars, but I'll admit road racing isn't my favorite.

Would someone please respond to this thread. Not necessarily respond to me, just something. While I've said a lot of times that I do like road racing, it's not my favorite form of racing and many would consider me to be anti road racing. Every time I come on now, I see my name as the last post and feel like somehow I've hijacked your entire forum.

Don't feel so bad, I've done it myself a couple of times.
