I thought I would ask this here. Is there going to be some sort of premium package to be able to get Live Video with Timing and Scoring this season?

That would be really, really excellent! Without cable/sat., that's the only way (short of going to someone's house) I have of watching the race.

Pretty stupid, at least Champion Level Indycar Nation members should get streaming, as many other benefits of paying for membership is gone as well.

Unfortunately, it really sounds like this is a matter of the broadcast partners getting more aggressive about enforcing specific clauses in the contracts. I can understand not allowing streaming for the race or other broadcast track activities such as quals, but to prohibit all is unfortunate in the extreme. I loved watching the practices.

I totally agree with this post. Forums gone, streaming gone, what's next?

I watched some NCAA hoops last night, free of charge, online. It appears someone has figured out how to make money at it as there were plenty of ads sold and halftime show that was different than the one offered on tru tv. Now, I understand there may not be enough return to justify the expenditure on IICS streaming, but the model is out there if someone will look for it.

I remember a few years back that you could pay for streaming (plus you could watch all the previous races in an archive). I'd gladly pay for this again.

I'm a lifetime member (Champion). What perks do I get to speak of at this point?

Exactly, and anyone who is not a lifetime member what incentives do they have to join now?
No forums, no streaming races, no renewing membership with points, no race tickets or paddock passes with points, no merchandise with points.
15% off race tickets isn't much compared to what it costs to renew membership, I'd rather pay the extra 15% than renewing my membership, unless more things come in the future. So far a Hat, Lanyard and 15% off tickets doesn't seem worth the cost of joining.

I'm willing to give 'em a bit more time and see how it all shakes out. As a general proposition, though, I'm not a fan of buying things that offer a primary benefit of a discount on other things I may not need or want in the future.

If really nothing gets done about this and Indycar offers no streaming service whatsoever, beyond even 2011, then quite frankly they'll lose a fan. And I'm sure many many others all over the world are in the same position.

I just can't afford the equivilant of $100 dollars a month for a premium sports package so I can watch the series. I could afford a smaller fee if indycar wanted to offer a paid service. But nothing at all? It's a huge step back.

I know I've posted about this before, but I really just want to be able to remain a fan. Simple as that.

JM, that would be unfortunate, but also realize that Versus\IndyCar's primary concern are ratings in the United States. That's no solace, but also be aware that...whispering....are likely to be other ways of watching some type of stream...
