  • Nations cup in the IRL for 2003?

It looks like 2003 is going to best year for the IRL with the addition of Honda/Toyota. With new Engines comes new drivers such as Nakano/Tora(Japan) to compete against Redon(france),Salazar(chile), Dare,Helio,Gil,etc(Brazil) Buhl,Fisher,Ray,etc(USA). Would IRL fans agree on a Nations Cup similar to what CART has? Would IRL fans go for it?

Not no, heck no. We have no need to resort to CART gimmicks.

This IRL fan says no. I doubt any Indy Car fan in the US would be glad if the USA wins such a competition. It just doesn't belong here.

Is that Fred's Nation Cup you are talking about?
On the other hand a Brazilin driving an North American Owners car built in Great Britian, well just who has earned those points? And should we split all the earned points? Or

CART fans don't even care about the Nation's Cup.

It's OK with me as long as they call it the FRED Nation's cup.

I am totally not into a "Nations Cup" SF. Great idea for ALMS though!
