  • Max Papis stay in CART

    From USA Today:

Max Papis, released after the 2001 season by Team Rahal, has found a new ride in the CART series with Sigma Autosport. The 32-year-old Italian driver earned two of his three career Champ car victories last season and finished eighth in the standings after a slow start. Papis will continue to race a Lola with Ford-Cosworth power. Oriol Servia drove the Sigma car to a 19th-place finish in the points last season.

Good for Max. I was afraid he was going to have to do like Herta and go back to Sportscars. Max is a good guy, quite personable in spite of being a "furrin road-racing devil"

I like Max. Actually, I was hoping Eddie would hire him for the No. 52, but I'm glad he's still in open wheel and not in sports cars.
