  • IPS Expenses

With the IPS season underway, what are teams spending per weekend? Is it what more or less what they expected?

TSO quoted Gary Peterson as saying $35-50K per race. That was a couple of weeks ago.
"It was actually fun, because you're back fully driving again in these trucks. Ninety percent of the tracks we go to in the IRL, you're flat-out. I was having to lift off the corners some here." - Buddy Rice

so a team next season could have a budget from 350 to 500K

not bad for a open wheel formual series.

      Id say thats pretty cheap.

But the IPS detractors hate hearing good stuff like that.

The web site wasn't posting purse pay-out. Typically what does the series pay out for a win, 2nd, 3rd, etc or for just showing up?
        Have attended: Indy 500 (36), Belle Island (3), Kentucky (4), St Pete (3), Homestead (1), Texas (2) Michigan (5), Cleveland (3), Iowa (6), Chicagoland (5), IRP (2), Eldora (3)...

Total purse is $100K, with $25K to the winner. As far as I know, no purse breakdown or point fund has ever been published.

The purse is 100k. Any money NOT paid out of that (for the short fields), is put into the point fund. This rewards those that are running this season.

            Races are 25k to win.

It's much cheaper to run the IPS than the Toyota Atlantics series. Let's see how many of them make the jump next year. It may just make Pook crap his pants.

              But that's just my opinion!

Pretty good deal with 25,000 prize money for first place. It seems to be a little cheaper than Toyota Atlantic which could run up to 1million

Not only will you see some of the Atlantics teams go to the IPS, but a coulple of the Atlantics teams that pook is counting on moving up to CART are being pressured by their sponsors to go to the IRL.
"IRL" ... what IS that anyway?
