  • IRL @ Milwaukee ? who has been there?

Im thinking of heading to the Milwaukee Mile this year for something completely different.

Does one need to sit way up high to see all the track?

Can you see all the track?

Where should I fly into? Looks like theres a few major airports within a couple hours drive .

What short tracks are near by?

Do Laverne & Shirley still live there?

    thanx in advance

Center of grandstand 300 and 400 level get you sight of the whole track.
North end of grandstand 300 level, you lose a bit of 1 and 2..
The 4th turn bleachers arent bad for the price and if you get near top, view is good same sight loss in 1 and 2..

Fly into Mitchell Field, your only 20 minutes to the track.

Slinger speedway runs on sunday night..

Laverne and Shirley moved when Shotz closed...

    Hope this helps!

The Milwaukee Mile is a great place to go. Last year's IndyCar race was excellent. Had it gone a few more laps Scheckter MAY have had something for Sam, as he was catching him.

I had been to Milwaukee several times before, but always as a participant, not a spectator. Sitting in the stands (which are new) watching was a very different experience. The IndyCar race will always be a regular on my attendance schedule. I would STRONGLY recommend it for those who have never been there.

OK so Slinger runs on Sunday. I already looked they have a 75 lapper that night.

What tracks do I go to on Friday night and Saturday night.

        3 days 4 new tracks...this could work

I'd skip Slinger and drive the 45 minutes or so to Sun Prarie myself.

The problem with that race is that the tickets are too expensive. The reason is because the IRL charges too much for their races.

If you think the IRL races are expensive, I suggest you NEVER inquiry about a nascar race. IndyCar races run from $35.00 to $90.00 (the average being about $50.00) depending on location and seat choice. Nascar is two to three times as much and the racing SUCKS in comparison!

In the interest of truth, it's great to be a fan but fanatical and wrong is still wrong.

The level 300 and 400 IRL seats for Sunday are $69 and $89 and are weekend tickets for ALL THREE days. By comparison those same tickets for the Trucks are 39-49 and Busch 69-79 those are just one day tickets.

It is a very fan friendly race. Come in for quals and get an autograph of any driver you want. The 300-400 seats are great as previously posted- the new owners have dropped the prices and ticket sales are already above last year. Order as a downforce member thru them for a discount and sit with a lot of fun folks. We have about 20 friends going this year. The IRL Mile race just keeps growing.

can you but race day only tickets for less?
If the league is not going to shift their stance on the fees I would imagine all of the ovals would start being replaced by "chamber of commerce financially supported" TV infomercials dressed up like a car race for different city centers across the USA.

I fly in to Chicago O'Hare and drive up. Not a bad drive at all, 60-90 minutes I think? I typically cando round trips out of there for less than $150 and can usually make the schedule work so I can get a run in at Chicago Indoor Karting either going in or out. Flying direct to Milwaukee typically involves crappy times and at least double the airfare. The money I save pays for the gas, karting and gets me a nicer car for the weekend and still leaves $100 in my pocket at least.

the brochure doesn't say, they do sell Friday only and Saturday only tickets but the ticket office is always your best source of information.

                              and KevMcNJ you should go
