I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet.

    Neat choice!

I think he is a great choice. What would be really cool is if he could take a victory lap on his bike 30 minutes before the race starts.

If you can find fault with Lance Armstrong you are going to be able to find falt with just about anyone out there.

There is a quote from a very famous teacher of men that went something like "He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw"

With Gene Simmons, Carmelo Anthony and Lance Armstrong all involved this year, I think the Festival Parade should have an upgrade in celebrities this year.
IRL 2009: "Cars you can't see, driven by drivers you have never heard of, on a network you don't get"

"I'd hire your grandmother, if she brought a budget"- Bankrupt Indy Car team owner Tyler Tadevic, to Curt Cavin in December, on the tough standards he looks for when "hiring" driver talent.

Considering 60% of men and 40% of women cheat at some point during their marriage... and with celebrities I'm sure that percentage is significantly higher... the pickings are going to be slim. Besides, I don't see anyone 'praising' him for 'reportedly' cheating.

Boooo. Mario would have been a better choice pacing the field with Michael and Marco in tow.

                          The Uniballer rides again

FWIW, Robin Miller ten times more partial and credible than the witches hunting Lance for the past ten years.

                          Why does Lance win?

Cancer recovery drugs improved his performance?
Blood Doping that can and will kill you?
A lactose tolerance that is off the known charts?
The best supported team in the Tour?
The most knowledgable rider and coach on the route? (Think about playing a golf tourney without any practice rounds on the course - most riders don't preview the course)?
More training year round than any other rider?
The best hand-picked team of riders in the tour?
Consistent tours every year ( look at Hamilton's sudden rise in the sport and the subsequent positive test)?

I bet it was the Drugs.

As Lance would say, THIS IS JUST EPIC
                          Natural Born Cynic

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

                            Wow.

The most successfull American athlete in an international event over the last 20 or more years...has raised piles of cash for his cancer charity...has inspired thousands, if not millions of people over the last decade...

Yeah, why would anyone want him in the pace car?

Oh, wait, he might have cheated on his wife with Crowe. Well, all that other stuff is out the window. I'm sure no other pace car driver has had an affair. Never happens.

What a bizarre thing to be upset about. I guess it proves that you can't please everyone.

And the jokes refering to the result of his serious illness are very distasteful, IMO.

They may be tongue-in-cheek but considering how many obstacles Lance has had to overcome to just stay alive I'd just as soon shut my face and respect the man.

I consider it a great honor to have him drive the pace car for THE 500!
                              - Make a note of the word 'Gobbly-gook'. I like it and I want to use it more often in conversation.
                              --Yes, sir.
