Also, tonight OLN will also have same day coverage of A1GP from Monterrey, Mexico. Drivers include Patrick Carpeniter (Canada), Tomas Enge (Czech Republic), and Bryan Herta (USA).
I am glad the 500 is getting some coverage but there are 88 other 500's besides 81. Why don't they show some of those from time to time?

Sometimes they show '82, so it's not that bad. They should show last years with commentary from all the major particulars. I'd watch that. I believe Speed does that for all the NASCAR races.

Ah, there's nothing more exciting than science. You get all the fun of sitting still, being quiet, writing down numbers, paying attention... Science has it all.
If they were not brain dead at 16th and Georgetown, they would arrange (with Speed or ESPN Classic) to broadcast one Indy 500 each weekend (saturday morning, perhaps) leading up to the actual qualifications. Go backward in time each week to create a link from the past to the big race.
They have to have broadcasts in the bag going back to at least 1976 I would think How about doing something like this starting at the end of this year:
From what I've been told, they have everything going back to '61, including the Wide World of Sports stuff, in storage, at a "secret" location.
You can ask all you want, but it's not coming out, and that's that.
Is it the same shack in the infield where they allegedly keep/kept the old bricks?
They showed the 1985 500 during May this past year.
I wish the one they showed last night hadn't been the one where Arute was goading Bobby & Mario into arguing about it. Also, they cut it short b/c the show before went over 15 minutes. And maybe I missed it, but during the actual race telecast, I never did see them show "the controversial pass." I only saw it during the Arute parts.
Finally, I wish I hadn't grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory when I taped it. I used a tape that had enough room at the end, but somehow managed to tape over the beginning of the tape instead. Guess I will be looking for a tape of the 2004 California race.
One driver's "fuel strategy" is another driver's "speed up or we will park you!"
so all those on the new extended start finish line are fakes?
i feel like a five year old who's been told about Santa Claus
i used to love when espn would show "legends of the brickyard" and "The Indy 500 a race for heros(or champions, can't remember exactly)"late night in the weeks leading up to race weekend
but it wouldn't fit into their programing these days because there aren't to bozo's who think they know a lot but really know very little arguing about terrell owens on the show
so i guess we are SOL
