I did not have the truck diecast to directly work from, sized the artwork per a standard Racing Champions 1/25 scale CTS diecast, was told everything was properly sized before I did final printing, then saw the end result which was anything but (it was NOT an RC as I had been told, but some obscure Chinese brand which got the body proportions all wrong).

Another car for 2006? I don't think so in this case. It has not been announced in the Star.
Get your head out of your past!!!

I doubt that is a based on a real racing car, because it has Toyota on it and the car would be out of date already.

That guy does amazing work. The models are amazing. Thanks for the link!
          And don't forget the heat!

Gary IS a little biased towards Tracy.

Of course, if he wants to do any business with IRL teams and fans, this doesn't help:

Our series was down, but Champ Car has turned around the entire program in two years. I have never left them when they were down, and never will. I think cracking the million mark in attendance is awesome for a series that most IRL fans said was dead. The last 2 events Champ Car averaged 50,000 fans on Fridays! Not even NASCAR can do that, so we are on the right track for sure.

MARK CIPOLLONI: I'm sure you have come into contact with many people inside and outside the sport. What's your opinion on the proposal to merge with the IRL that was floated for months.

GARY PINO: At this point, it would be good for the entire Open Wheel community. The pieces are in place with the new chassis and engine package in 07, but Tony George would want too much and I doubt if Champ Cars new brain trust (who have schooled George) the last few years in courts and promotion would hand over a product that may well be better than F1 in a few years?

Look what George has done to open wheel racing since 1995! I think he is a cancer to the sport and maybe Champ Car is better off without him? Besides in 24 months the IRL’s engine package is bleak. Think about this, he has the Andretti, Penske, Foyt, etc names in his series and they still are on life support. It says a lot about George and the way he does things. Right now I kinda like the way things are. I predict some guys over there jump the fence and come back to Champ Car. If you’re a team owner or driver, how can you be sure about your future when you see you engines walking out the door? Drivers today want job security, and it’s really not there right now for them.

There a lot of good things on the horizon for Champ Car fans here at Chapparrels so stay tuned.

I remember hearing about a young kid that was planning on becoming an IndyCar team owner. I think they talked about him before the Texas broadcast last year.

The kid has an awfully ambitious dream and has plenty of time to accomplish it. Let's give him some time to make this happen, he may be the future of our sport.

More power to him. I'm not going to stop him from living his dream.

I just wouldn't announce each year that you'll be fielding a car, and then not do anything.

He considers himself an owner, but the only thing that I've ever seen that he's done was be a sponsor on Jon Herb's car in 2004. That's a nice accomplishment, but I don't think he owns a car, pit equipment, tools, etc...

Matt Young Motorsports will co-sponsor the No. 6 AERCON/Matt Young Motorsports car entered by Racing Professionals in the IRL Menards Infiniti Pro Series™ Texas 100 on Oct. 16 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Young, an 18-year-old from Bryan, Texas, hopes the sponsorship in the season finale is the first step to becoming the youngest team owner in the IRL in 2005.

“We are working on bringing some exciting new sponsorship to the IRL next season with our team,” Young said. “We intend to run a two-car effort in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series next year and hope to make announcements by January regarding the sponsors and drivers.”

Young developed a love for racing at an early age, and his mother’s role as an attorney with a firm representing A.J. Foyt gave him behind-the-scenes access to the sport.

Young will partner with Jon Herb for the Texas 100. Herb started 13 IRL IndyCar® Series races from 2000-02 and formed Racing Professionals in 2002.

“We’re excited to have Matt join us a sponsor for the Texas 100,” Herb said. “I know he wants to become a team owner next year, and we’re happy to help him out with this first step.”

                            MYM to Miss Season Opener
                            3/1/2005

MYM will miss the season opener at Homestead Speedway in Miami March 6th. We are working on a sponsorship package for Jon Herb that will join Racing Professionals and Matt Young Motorsports together as co-owning entities for the remainder of the season similar to what we did last season at Texas. This program may not be In place until Indy but we hope to have it put together sooner. check back to the site often as we will publish updates on how things are coming along for this program as well as others we are working on for 2005. We wish Jon and the AERCON team the best of luck and hope we will be racing with him soon! If you are a potential sponsor Interested in being involved with MYM please go to the contacts page and e-mail or call us and we can arrange to have a business plan and promotional DVD overnighted to you!
But, I don't think that ever happened.

I wish him all the best, I just want to point out, like with every other deal, he'll be fielding a team pending sponsorship.

Anyone get any prizes from the fanclub?
