  • Mears finishes 2nd.. Does Ganassi get him to Indy in May?

2nd in the Daytona 500 isnt that easiest of a things to do, especially when there are some crazy idiots out there on the track... Good job Casey... hope to see you in a fast Target car in May... at IMS

There's still a chance, Mears was second and if they DQ JJ for cheating, we have a winner !!!!!!

not that he isnt a great NASCAR DRIVER but......what exactly earns him the right to run at indy.....

didnt he wreck every available backup car with a CBS logo on it trying to qualify for indy a few years ago?....

i know hes a mears in name....but im quite sure billy cheever(eddies bro in the real estate biz doesnt tell eddie he wants to run indy, because eddie won)

billy is fictitious in nature, any comparisons to an actual billy cheever is unintended.

      thank you

Has Cup ever DQ'd a winning driver? They might take away points and purse, but I'd be shocked if they take the victory away.

Not a clue, had a couple beers and thought there was a chance.

IMO, whenever a driver (especially Nascar) comes to run Indy, it's a good thing.

He had only one wreck during practice that year (2001). I'm sure he was frustrated driving for the painfully slow Galles team. He'd be much better this time if he gets a chance.

No Johnson was caught twice last year and they still awarded him the win.

It's simply a dream. I don't think it will even happen.

I think they have, but not in a long, long time. NASCAR policy is to let the fans leave the race track knowing who the race winner is.

Heck, they could open it up and find a second motor in the trunk and they still wouldn't strip the win away. They'd "fine" them that's all.

See Richard Petty at Charlotte 1983 for a great example

I don't think Crazy Tony made many buddies yesterday on the track. He kind of reverted to his natural form.

Now, if there are in a strict mood, they might dock them an entire 5 championship points and then fine the crew chief $50k.
