  • Qualifying for the Coors Silver Bullet/Chevy Thunder Series

Not really a new idea but perhaps a new application. And since the CSB/CT series is only a dream, perhaps it could be adapted to the IPS series successfully.
One of the goals of a feeder series is to train and expose talent for the major series. But most of the focus is on the driver, even though a team is still a requirement. So lets give the crew members something to train on and get exposure too. Since most of these races will be sprints with no serious pit stops, let's put a pit stop into the qualifying. One lap, then pit and back for another complete lap, three laps total. And not one at a time either. Now in my dreams the CSB/CT has at least 60 cars showing up to race, so let's say we divide them into three groups of 20. For the IPS, all of them until 20 is reached then divide into 2 groups. Twenty cars on a pit stop at tracks that many times pit 43 stock cars should spread them out enough for it not to be TOO dangerous, yet still have the every second counts competition. Each car will start the qualifying on a half a tank of fuel, come in, take on 4 tires and a full fuel tank and make the wing adjustments to adapt to the new weight and balance. To keep cost down each set of tires would be for qualifying only, but used all season long. What do you think?

And I know, this belongs on the CSB/CT board or the IPS board.
Some people will do nearly anything in order to be able to not do anything.
