Where is John Menards $ going?

John has been a fixture in Open Wheel racing for years and it late in the game here, so I was wondering if anyone has any insight as to where the Menards/Johns Manville $ will be going?

Can you spell "DEI?" That is my guess. I think Paul is a driver for them down "yonder." Apparently it was not enought last year in the IRL. He has sponsored runners up twice in the past few years but no gold ring. Too Bad. I have pulled for Herm Johnson to Vitor Miera. He had to be one of the longest conscutive owners/sponsors at INDY out done by Foyt.

His money is going somewhere other than the IRL........

The decisions the IRL has made in the past 3 years made this an easy choice for JM.....and it won't surprise me to see more dollars leave the league/series, and that's unfortunate.

If the IRL ever goes back what it was supposed to be about, maybe JM's dollars will return.....but until then, forget about it.

Let's be honest. JM never really spent that much on the IRL. Certainly he never spent anywhere near what he is now spending in NASCAR. All over Chicago there are Menards billboards with Little E. That ain't cheap.

Team Menard was never a properly funded Indycar operation. Menards never provided more than associate-sponsor-level support to Rahal or Panther.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to be a fan of a series to post in their forum. Its pretty hard to reconcile being a fan of the IRL with a juvenile taunt like the one quoted above.

John Menard ought to realize by now you usually can't win the Indy 500 doing a one-off. You have to run the rest of the races, too.

You have no idea how much money was spent on the engine program and team while JM was involved in the series.

I'm pretty sure that if JM were to be funding a 2 or 3 car effort, many around here would be very pleased. JM "votes" with his money, and I applaud him for that. It's too bad more people don't do the same.
