XM Radio & the IRL

My brother bought a new XM Radio so he could listen to the IRL broadcasts he wouldn't normally be able to get.

To register, you are asked to fill out a questionaire and one of the questions is how did you become aware of XM? Options listed were, friend, relative, tv. NASCAR but NO MENTION OF THE IRL OR THIER SPONSORSHIP OF BRYAN HERTA??!!!

Unbelievable that a company would invest a million plus dollars into a sponsorship and not tie into thier corporate follow-up.

I agree with you. I also bought my XM with the IRL as my motivating factor. I would like to see them do more with the IRL. Maybe after NASCAR goes over to the dog they will put a little more in focus on the IRL. I would love to see them take one of those NASCAR channels and convert it to a Motorsprorts channel.

Either the radio you bought was an older unit or the questionnaire was done by an outside marketing firm. Either one is possible.

Rest assured that XM & the IRL have a great relationship and every IRL race will be available on XM again this year.

Just picked up Sirius over the holidays. True, it doesn't have the IRL, but I can't imagine ever going back to "traditional radio".

The only reason I have XM in my car is because of the IRL broadcast. I can't stand their music stations. I have Sirius as part of my Dish Network package and the music stations there are 100x better than anything XM offers.

Contact XM and let them know. I have been lobbying for them to carry Mike King's Wednesday night show on XM 152. They took on the Indy Car Minute instead, which they played a couple of times an hour. But I think they would benefit from the Wednesday night show on XM 152 every week, season or not.

I'm an XM subscriber and I've noticed Indycar's stature at XM on the increase.
