  • 500 Schedule

Noticed that the 500 Schedule has qualifying ending at 6 pm as has been the past 10 years that I have gone to pole day.

Had heard that Indiana was going to daylight savings time this year. Is that true. If so then things are going to end an hour sooner that has been the case in previous years.

Just trying to plan a schedule. I am so confused.

i don't know what they are GONNA do but i can tell you what they SHOULD do

they should adjust the schedule so that happy hour is at the same time regardless of what the clock says.

the shadows of the stands should be creeping over the frontstrech as happyhour goes along

If Indiana goes to daylight savings time and the schedule still says qualifying ends at 6:00 PM then the comparative time will be 5:00 PM with past years. So there should be no shadow problem. If they wanted exact solar time as in past years then the qualifying could end at 7:00 PM.

thats what i'm saying happy hour has been when the shadows start to cover the front stretch thereby cooling the track and making it quicker.so they should keep the track open till 7:00pm.if they close at six which used to be five=no real happyhour

I've asked this question several times and have not gotten a reply. Willy Indy be CDT, or EDT?

Current plan is for Indy to be EDT as of start of April

There are some areas debating CDT, specifically around South Bend it could get very confusing as certain areas want to be EDT with Michigan and others CDT with Chicago

I say current plans as the Indiana Legislature starts work on Monday and plans are to try to raise the issue again. This is a short session this year so if anything is to happen it will have to happen very fast.

              Must...resist...urge...to post!

No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.
