Panther board rumors 1 car to be confirmed ?

I'm not putting a lot of faith in because some foul sorts have been posting a lot on Panther's forum but two people over there have now posted without any linkage that Panther has a deal waiting to be signed for one car next year. Not sure if it is true or not, but if it is (and I hope it is) it would be some much needed good news to start the year off right.

You can't have a two-car team until you have a one car team, so I'll settle for that. In that form at least Panther will continue, they will also still have abour 6 chassis, and that leaves the door open for other entries at Indy or another last minute deal for a 2nd team. What do I know, I'm just a cheerleader.

For what it is worth the following is under the picture on the lead article about the 2006 season on Panther's website.

With the dawning of a new year, there is yet another season of thrilling IndyCar Series racing on the horizon. Panther plans to be there with a solid one-car effort.

That would be great in my book but I doubt Buddy could bring enough $$ to make the deal work.

I actually appreciate the loyalty to a racing series, but at some point you have to be at least a little realistic.

So you're saying the owner, who actually knows what is going on, is wrong? Even when he publicly has stated a couple times they are going full force in fielding one car.
