  • Dodge Challenger photo

I just looked at the new retro Camero thread. Reminded me to go back and look at the Doge one that was on here a couple of weeks ago. Can't find it. Did it get moved to another forum?

I don't know where it is on this site but I have seen it on the allpar.com site under the concept car header. Its a pretty cool looking car. It looks a lot like the old Challenger.

I'd be very surprised if the production version closely resembles that current Challenger concept. Biggest reason IMO will be the C-pillars making for poor rear vision. As of right now, the concept is an incredible looking vehicle. All the more reason I'll probably be disappointed in the final version.

Ya know, I was wondering about that. The concept shows them like they were on the original. Unfortunately, like you said the blind spot is huge. I don't know of a way they could open up that area and still have it look like the old car.

It'd be tough. They'd have to narrow the c-pillar to give better side vision and allow for a larger rear window. I owned a '72 and the rearview mirror was basically useless. It was like looking through a mail slot.

Pulled this from a Dodge forum. Take it for what it is worth...not my words.

<!--StartFragment --> While I was at the dealer today the service manager and sales manager told me that Dodge was putting out the Challenger for 2007. Even showed me the announcement on their computers. I knew I had seen the car before on this forum and liked it then. Now if they are truely going to make this car and hold to its concept, then I am going to buy two! (Sales manager informed me that since I had bought their first Charger, I would have to settle for numbers 2 and 3 from them. He was going to buy #1!) Anyway, they are really excited....on the concept design....as am I. If it holds water then I've gotta start saving money bigtime!!

Stick a Hemi and a manual tranny in it, price it in Mustang territory and I'd buy one.

That's exactly what they are going to do. Word has it it will be the 6.1 liter Hemi from the SRT8 models (Charger SRT8, Magnum SRT8, Jeep SRT8, Chrysler 300 SRT8) with a manual tranny.

It sure would make a Cool Pace Car at Indy!
