  • Panther temporarily shutting down

    Robin Miller at SPEED

This sucks. Please feel free to move to Biz.
    It's a Hoosier thing, you wouldn't understand...

Bad news, and certainly disappointing in the light of recent developments pointing to potentially higher ratings and lower costs. Hopefully this will be a short hiatus.
There's really no such thing as Gary the Moose, Sybil.

I'm sure someone here will spin this as a positive.

I'm sure Barnhart thinks everything is just fine.

Unreal how far things have fell.

Stick a fork in the IRL.

          Thanks Tony.

I guess Danica really raised all the boats
"Ninety-two years ago [the Indy 500] was probably like any other race," said 2005 winner Dan Wheldon. "But over time it's just created so many storylines and history for people of our generation that now it's just massive. People value that history and tradition and you just can't take that away."

I suspect if things keep hitting the fan we may see some drastic changes before May.

I think we've already seen some drastic changes before May.

                      ...I agree.

As I said in another thread, the true measure of success and growth is in the number of teams & cars. So in regards to the 'hopeful' count of 18-19 cars, that's still 2-3 cars less than this season, which isn't growth.

Ugh... bad news. Panther deserves a shot at everybody with equal footing.

Shut your computers off, folks, get ready for turkey. Be thankful for the great season we had, things will work out.

You know, this really is a positive.

(I just couldn't disappoint you, MichaelP)

I would remind everyone, however, that thus far, when something bad or discouraging may be about to fall upon the IRL, the ONE reporter to let us know about it ASAP is Robin Miller. Sometimes it's as bad as he says it is. Sometimes it's not.

I'll hold my mourning for when Kaaveh posts it, thank you much.

                              For what it's worth.
