  • Wheldon's status?

I thought we would know by now. Was there any kind of announcement that I missed?
    Have attended: Indy 500 (36), Belle Island (3), Kentucky (4), St Pete (3), Homestead (1), Texas (2) Michigan (5), Cleveland (3), Iowa (6), Chicagoland (5), IRP (2), Eldora (3)...

No - not really. Here is the latest that I found.

A free agent, Wheldon remains uncertain about his future. IndyCar champion Dan Wheldon, officially a free agent since his contract with Andretti Green Racing expired 11/1, affirmed today in Colombia that he has yet to sign a deal with a Formula 1 team.

"I don't know where my future is going to take me right now," the 27-year-old confessed. Wheldon has also been linked with a possible Ganassi drive to defend his IRL crown in '06, which would reportedly involve a substantial pay raise.

    Seems like it's a matter of $$$.

If it is Ganassi, then the announcement on Hondas comes first and Wheldon second. I am boldly predicting that by next Monday, we will know the answer.

If Dan is really signing with Ganassi the possible delay was Ganassi's Nascar deals, which came together last week.

MDF- Monday huh? I would say today is the last day this week for an announcement since Dan is going to Brazil for the kart race.

There was. It was announced that Dan is going shoe shopping.

I thought the Colombian/Montoya go-kart race was this past weekend?

PR rule #1 - Never issue good news on a Friday if you have any control over it. Always on Monday so people talk all week about it.

I hope they say something soon
"Ninety-two years ago [the Indy 500] was probably like any other race," said 2005 winner Dan Wheldon. "But over time it's just created so many storylines and history for people of our generation that now it's just massive. People value that history and tradition and you just can't take that away."

Yes JMP's Race of Stars was the weekend of Nov. 5&6.

This weekend 19&20 is the Granja Viana 500 with activities that began on Monday. It takes place at Felipe Giaffone’s family kart track.

So Monday would be good so we can talk about it at the thanksgiving table and be thankful Dan is staying in the IRL.

A prolonged off-season will prompt prolonged decision making just to keep our interest alive. But, I don't care for this strategy.

Hey if Nicole wants to go shopping for shoes or anything else for that matter. I'd damn sure take her anywhere, anytime!
