  • Take a Good Look at the Bottom of a Birdcage

This was a Rockwell test of your racing hardness. If when you read the thread topic you thought, "Maserati", you are indeed hardcore.

Isn't there a red "birdcage" Maserati at the Speedway Museum?
      It's a Hoosier thing, you wouldn't understand...

I thought birdcages were in the rear ends of Sprinters and connected on the left side to the Jacob's Ladder.

I saw a "birdcage" race in a sports car race. It was a road course. The race also was indoors.

I was thinking of the movei with Robin Williams and Nathan Lane.

I was thinking of another spiteful article written by the beloved master of the the word of doom.

              Glad I was incorrect.

No, if you read the title and thought "Tipo 60 or 63?", then you are hardcore.

There are but a handful of truly classic race cars, and the Birdcage is certainly among the best ever. But then I am old enough to have seen them race at their prime at Riverside. I love those cars.

Yep. The car in the photo, btw, is a Tipo 61. The Tipo 63 cars were the ultra rare rear (mid) engine versions.
