I don't have a reel to reel player, but this would appear to be a very good price for something like this:

I always thought Helmet was more stoic than that...

It would be more like "Hear Helmet Melt!"

I don't have one either and neither do the vast majority of race fans. Quite a bargain though and something I'd love to hear.

I have an idea I'll bounce off a friend

What are the copyright issues of something this old if the copies are kept to a low volume, what I'm getting at is transferring to CD and dividing the cost of the tape plus cd's plus whatever it would cost to get someone with the needed equipment to make the transfer. Who would be interested?

Must have been an alternate way of distributing the 33.3 rpm record that came out in late 1957. I have the record, somewhere.

When a reel player is engaged in play and the tape clicks and stops, what is the usual reason for that? Drag on the feeder reel (I have no clue as to the actual terminology)?

I have the record too. The records are easy to find on Ebay.

I'd be interested, though I also have the LP. That said, it would clearly be a copyright violation. The number of copies don't matter. I don't have all the specifics, nor am I a lawyer, but I do know that copyright laws for sound recordings are even more restrictive than those for printed material. But I would imagine that your chances of getting hauled into court are pretty slim.

I believe if you merely made copies and sold them for the price of the actual blank CD disc you probably wouldn't have a problem. I really doubt there'd be anyone around to raise a stink about it anyway or would even care. Its alot different if the recording was available today on a current media format but it isn't.

Last I knew my dad had a couple of working Reel to reel players, but I don't know what the current state of them is
