Her graduation has been moved to the Wednsday before the 500, not the Saturday before the race as was last year. Thought I was going to have to miss one.

Yeah. That would have been too bad if you had to miss her graduation!
My graduation from Butler took place on Pole Day this year...I had planned to be at the track by 1:30, and I rushed as quick as possible to make it. While driving down 38th St., we were listening to WIBC in the car. Pole Day was postponed...
...I missed nothing!
Unfortunately, my family had to leave the next day, and I was especially bummed for my mother and sister, since they've never been to a race track...oh well, I've got 4 tickets to next year's 500...I'll have to fly 'em in then I suppose!
Anyway, congrats to 2wheel and his step-daughter on a job well done!
If it makes you feel any better, my dad (way back when in 1958) graduated HS on the night before the 500. Being in Springfield, IL, they had a 4+ hour drive to the track that night after his graduation ceremony. Of course, it's not like most people sleep that night anyway!

Different men, from vastly different backgrounds, focused on the same goal – a white line painted on a yard of brick 500 miles ahead.

If she's such a good student why was her graduation moved from the saturday before the last 500 to the Wednesday before the next 500? When that happened to me it meant I failed gubermint class.
