  • So which driver you want in #14 next year?

Since AJ4 is gone NASCAR, Larry has his own team in BUSCH and sponsor is commited for another couple years.

I would prefer someone from the old guard like Greg Ray, 'Aaron' Dare, Lazier, Jimmy Kite or somebody like Dave Steele, JJ Yelley...

    What are possibilities?

It would be easier to make a choice if I could see the size of the check attached to each drivers resume.

You can bet it will be someone with financial "assistance" and probably not a "shorttracker". That is the racing world in 2005!!

Not likely to be Gregg Ray after Ray sued Foyt in early 2004.

Could be a lot of folks and I do think money will play a role. As far as I know, the ABC deal was only for this year.

Alfonso Giaffone seems to be one candidate. Jeff Simmons or even Jeff Bucknum might be others. I think the most likely scenario is that the driver could change several times over the course of the season as money runs out and lets face it, AJ has been known to be difficult to work for.

But I think it's also possible that AJ, aged 70, might decide he's had enough of being a car owner rather than try to gamely chase the back of the pack with Toyota power for another year.

Or Tony K., Dario or Dan W. for that matter. Better yet - Tony Stewart. Bet he would not be heading to victory lane very often in a Foytmobile.

2 years left on the ABC sponsorship, AJ getting old, just the time for a new partner to step-up and help guide the team. Seems like every May a certain ex-champ shows up in AJ's pits..... Hmmmmm........

Toyota....he ain't going back to them is he. (Remember he switched to Chevy) Probably a Honda in his future.
