Get rid of Diffey and there is also no excuse to not have post race coverage at least on Peacock…

If NBC hasn't been looking or doesn't have someone they've been grooming then they aren't serious about being the broadcast partner. When NBC went back to NASCAR they had Rick Allen and he's an above average race announcer, I don't think he's on the Mount Rushmore of microphones but he's good.

Diffey just gets too instantly excited and it seems like a real letdown 10 seconds later when nothing much happened. My guess is that most like him because he does his best to play the role of cheerleader homer for the series, I don't think that's the play by play announcer's job. It's why doubly so Kevin Lee isn't the choice, he seems like more publicist than journalist.

When IndyCar went to NBC my choice would have been to go bold and have Jamie Little be the lead announcer knowing there was no way IndyCar would approve. She is pretty firmly entrenched at FOX now even doing, pause, play by play for the ARCA series. Maybe the new management can see the potential to make a game changing move since they have hired her to work the public address at the Speedway. They missed the boat when they didn't find a way to bring Allen Bestwick as a holdover from ABC and didn't make that move when he was on the market. They may have seen the error of their ways because, yes he was on the public address at the Speedway.

Just enjoy the racing. So little of the TF ers seem to be able to do so.

I watched the whole race muted. On my TV. Laptop had lndycar Live Timing and the iPhone had the IndyCar app track position and Leaderboard. There sure are time gaps, one source to another.
