(8.4) Arciero - Max Papis is now with Sigma. No word on what that would mean to the Arciero/Maserati rumors. . .

(9.0) Beck Motorsports - According to TSL, Beck has purchased a car and is trying to put a program together.

(8.3) Blair - Alex Barron in the #44.

(8.6) Blueprint - Rumor of an Indy one-off possible.
[*][*] Bradley - With Clakins' sudden retirement, the team is looking for some sponsorship to compete in 2002. The names Dismore and Unser have come up, but everything is up in the air right now.

(9.0) Brayton - John deVries will drive the #37 with Pit Bull Energy Drink as primary sponsor.

    Byrd - Nothing new here.

(9.0) California - According to TrackSide Live, California is in the process of buying equipment from Metro Racing. The deal could now be done. A veteran driver would drive the early part of the season with Taylor Fletcher possibly getting to drive later if a deal gets done.

(8.5) Conquest - Mi-Jack/Conquest will run the full IRL season. Laurent Redon will drive the #34.

(9.0) Ganassi - It appears all but certain that Chip will run Jeff Ward full-time in the IRL in 2002. However it is likely tied to Ganassi qualifying for the Leader's Circle program, so we won't set this one in stone yet. Back to the top. If I'm going to work this hard, someone's going to read it!

I am reading it Rev, while trying to figure how much will change in two weeks

Well I'll go on record as saying I don't miss a one of these. I read everyone and appreciate it very much. Just wish Al could find a ride.
Get your head out of your past!!!

Thanks for all the hard work! I always read the updates.

            • #7
Two weeks? Are you suggesting that we miss THAT MANY changes before an update?

But seriously, we do appreciate your efforts!

Outstanding list as usual... but you seem to have left Rick Treadway off the "Expected at Homestead" list. Is there some sort of Treadway news that I've missed?
                    Quit whining. Enjoy the racing.

                    • #11
                      your efforts are truly appreciated.
hey you dang woodchucks, quit chucking my wood!

Great work, and lots of it as usual, Rev...

                        some late adds...

As previously noted, Calkins has retired, opening the 12 seat (with a possible number change)

McCormack's equipment is currently for sale, so an IRL run, even at Indy is unlikely

Actually, Tom, I was hoping to get some kind of official word on this ride (although I've heard the rumor from many places.) I had forgotten to list Ricky under the "Questions" category, so I've corrected that.

Fueler - Hadn't heard what was going on with the McCormack stuff. Thanks for the info. I don't think I listed McCormack anywhere on the list, did I? (I'm starting to see double! )

I knew the Buzz deal was coming down, just wasn't sure how soon.

Hadn't been able to find enough confirmation to make it strong enough to send out on TSL list but had gotten some names for the short list for that ride once it happened.

BTW, I believe you can remove the question mark from McGehee name. That should be solid, hopefully for the season.

And PDM should be made official soon.

Actually the ? for the Cahill ride was for the car number. I assume they'll be keeping the #10 at this point since 310 is using #31. Good news, nonetheless. . .

I'd like to fill in that PDM TBA. Hmm, maybe Friday. . .
