dog, with all due respect, I don't think there were that many saying he couldn't drive. The complaint was that nobody knew anything about him. But I'm glad y'all got a good run and wish you a good race as well.
Some people will do nearly anything in order to be able to not do anything.
Menard is a good judge of talent, you knew this kid had something, if he got the test over Gidley.
Honestly, Gildey didnt impress me in the FOntana race, and he had a test for this car and didnt get the ride, im honestly not impressed with the guy. Had another shot at a car at indy but did nothing but cmplain gripe BEFORE EVEN GOING OUT ON THE TRACK.
I lost my respect and wanting for GIdley to be in a car after bump day.
Nice run today dog (of course they give out the checks tomorrow...)
But tell me, where did the gains come from?
Better motor? (Got access to the GM parts now?) Better engineering? Better driving?
All of the above?
Good for you, Dog. Good run today. Hope you have a good one tomorrow, too.
Incidentally, for those who are wondering what the "key" was, one might consider that Gateway is anything but a full-throttle track. And Jaques' good runs, with the exception of Fontana, came on the same type of tracks (Nazareth - fast, but darn, Phoenix, and Homestead). On each one of those, something happened, but the car was wicked fast. Just my guess, of course, but it seems that whatever the "problem" might be with the car, it has more to do with WOT racing.
"It was actually fun, because you're back fully driving again in these trucks. Ninety percent of the tracks we go to in the IRL, you're flat-out. I was having to lift off the corners some here." - Buddy Rice
Ya, I agree that the spotter is a &^%$# and a &*((%, not a mention a *(&%#@@, oh and a #@!#$^^&* and a big ^&*() too! I think the spotter is their biggest problem. A pair of glasses would help. j/k bro!
Your boy did it! Great job on a driver's track that requires a great set up as well. Like PIR this track is not all about engines.
