  • Who will be the "Break-through" IRL Driver in 2002?

Which driver, or drivers, do you think will break-through in 2002 and secure that first win (or wins)?

    My pick would be:

    Donnie Beechler

Longshots would be Jeff Ward and Sarah Fisher.

Who do you think is "due"?

I'd guess that Gil deFerran might pick up his first (IRL) win.

Beechler has a good shot too. I'd look for Boat to get there sometimes this year also.

I'd also guess that a guy named Jaques will get his first championship. . .

I think without a doubt this will be J. Lazier's year.

I guess I didn't look at Gil as a driver who had yet to "Break-thru"!

          I also forgot about Giaffone!!!!!

He had some good runs last year.

Somehow, I just don't think Ricky Treadway will do the same for that team in 2002.

His first Indianapolis 500 championship, that is. The IRL championship will come a little later in the year.

I don't know if he will be able to get a win or not, but keep an eye on Lazarro. I think he is going to be very good. Others who I think will get their first IRL win this year will be deFerran, J. Lazier, Giaffone and possibly Beechler.

I also hope Kite has a breakthrough this year as well.

Giaffone...and Billy Boat will re-breakthrough. It's been so long he's a virgin again.

IMO, the only one (other than DeFerran) capable of getting a first IRL win this year is Beechler. I hope he does.

                            In my finest Arnold Schwarzenegger:

                            "SARAH FISHER"

Also look out for Barron, Giaffone

Yeah, somkeone mentioned laazrrio and he is a really good one. He just pummellede everyone in the old Hooters cup and F-atlantic.

See, Atlantics is CART's official feeder series and one of it's former champions is allowed to slip away to the IRL. Ah, he's just another American, so who needs him when we can get another Brazillian tobbacco pimping pretty boy senna wannabee?
