  • Good turn out for the history lesson...

A nice group of fans for a very eclectic choice of films.

off the top of my head of the T/F faithful we had in attendance:

    manson
    Trevor
    dog-ring
    Sparky
    T13
    mac miller
    Blue Bayou
    me
random handles that could be loosely thrown about

plus many others that I spaced because of my sixties upbringing, quite a few lurkers, and a pretty strong contingent of engineers and crew members sitting at the bar.

"Friend of racing Barb" favored us with two limited edition tapes. One covering Penske's amazing '88 season.... The other being a very good A.J. documentary.

The Foyt story had the portly Texan's career from Texas midgets to his Elkhart Lake crash, some very good stuff that I hadn't seen before.

Then we fired up some 50s/60s dirt track tapes..

a good time was had by all.

Tell 'em who wrote the narration for the Foyt documentary

I was amazed at the color footage of Langhorne from the 50's - big cars on dirt. I had never seen anything like that, although I hear people talk about it here a lot.

Also, I now know a trivia question, no- make that TWO questions, regarding Tommy Hinnerschitz . And at least one about the racing career of one John Gaughan .

'Bird- who were the dudes with the broguish accents?? Spies from Poole??
