  • Great Texas Coverage on SpeedNews

I have to hand it to SpeedNews, they just had a great wrap up of the Texas race and complimented the IRL on the great racing. That's pretty good PR coming from the competittions "partner".

    Is it May yet ?

If ABC does in fact tie a can to rpm, I hope that SPEED will step up to the plate with a daily replacement, with John Kernan!

SPEED News has always done a great job of covering all forms of motorsports. Their "partners" get the same treatment as every other series.

Perhaps because like RPM, it's a NEWS program, not a PR shill. It's a shame that some here can't get it through their heads that RPM isn't a marketing device, it's a news program.

Speed News has been doing a good job all year. I do think this was the first time they sent a corespondant to the race though.

"But not all of them, Jean-Pierre. There are some who come for that, for the accidents and the fires. But the others...
the others ride with you all. You put something in their lives they can't put there themselves."

If it is not marketing why do they devote the first half hour of their show to NASCAR?

Weekends when CART races CART is always their lead story (after NASCAR) unless something huge happened some where else. If the mouse would just take the same direction and give the racing that they have a vested intrest in seeing succed and putting it in the best possible light I think everyone would be much happier with the product.

hmmm.. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that NASCAR is the most important racing series in the US right now whether we like it or not.
