  • Place Your Bets

In the spirit of the Opening of the 2002 Meet at Hoosier Park, lets begin to think about handicapping the 500. Consider this the early line. If you don't like my line you can change it by placing a $2 bet for your driver. I can then adjust the lines after say 100 bets are placed. Well have to get Miles involved once the Casinos place their line (if the do this year).

Remember this is for fun (unless TSL wants to get Paypal - and the FBI involved).

    Well here we go:

      3 Helio Castroneves (W) D/C/F Marlboro Team Penske 3:1

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

I'll cover CRISTAL and put 5$ for each of us on Salazar . Just to keep it interesting put $10 on Dare as well . If Beechler does take the Foyt ride gimme $20 on that.

I'll put money on McGehee for starters. Can't beat those odds. May be the seed money for a team.

Have to take Brack as well. Former winner in a former winning owners car is a no brainer.

Put something down on Hornish as well just to cover the bets.

Well, I've GOT to take Little Al and RBM at these odds.

Put me down for 100 on each.

What happens to the odds on the second D&R car if Fisher gets that ride? If those odds hold, and Sarah gets that ride, I will place a bet on that.

I'll recyle the odds next weekend as bets come. Odds will directly reflect what has been bet. For instance, Cheevers odds will go toward infiniti as no one has yet laid any money on him. (Say Starrcam lays $100 on Cheever, his odds will drop considerably.) Odds are final at post time.

                  A $2 bet on a 3:1 odds will pay $8,
                  versus 1:5 paying $2.40.

I'd say that at current odds, the best bets here are the 28, 53 and 41 cars - there's at least a fair chance of an experienced shoe in each of those cars - and either of those cars could easily be capable of winning.

                        $1.00 on Zali.

                        If they win...

If not, it's only a dollar.

                        Either way, I'll be happy.

Any odds over 100:1 and you could find yourself having to pay out those odds

off them odds, but be prepared to make a quick exit at Indy and flee to Mexico
