  • de Ferren-NO plans on retiring

The Team Penske driver, whose bid for a third consecutive open-wheel racing championship was derailed by a crash in last Sunday's Indy Racing League event at Chicagoland Speedway, said Thursday reports of his impending retirement are unfounded.

"There's absolutely no substance to that. It's surprising to me that some people think they know something about me that I don't," de Ferran said by phone from his home in Fort Lauderdale,

Didn't RM say Gil will "never turn another wheel"

Somebody make sure the 7th Graders read that line.

Well that's good news to me. I am not ready to see one of the best racers in the world retire.

It serves RM's "I told you so" purpose to announce things like this. He doesn't like the IRL and has stated many times that it is unsafe and that de Ferran doesn't want to be racing in the series. So, de Ferran crashes and is out of this weekend's race, so Miller floats this "Gil is looking into retirment" BS to serve his own purpose.

Gil doesn't know what he's talking about. Of course Robin is correct, he knows everything. I'll believe Robin before I'll ever believe Gil. Oval driving ****** .
