But having the nation’s top open-wheel racing series and a former NASCAR Winston Cup champion in your corner doesn’t hurt, either.
OK, gotta confess, it's fun to read this.

I've run Whiteland for years. The Club has really grown and it's good to see the exposure that the track is getting.

Way to go. Great news. Hopefully Gary will invest into keeping his rentals up to snuff.

I can only speak about last year, but every year, we have sort of a geek's grand prix out there, and every year the place has gotten worse. Gary Lee and crew have let that place fall into awful disrepair. The track has lots of cr@ppy places, the rental karts are junk, and many of the people who work there are about as unhelpful and customer unfriendly as you can get. It was raining out there one year, and we were all standing inside the main building getting soaking wet due to the water pouring in from the ceiling.

If Tony and the IRL are funneling money into that deal, I can only hope Gary reinvests in the track facilities and not his own pockets.

I ran the Kart this past Summer there and had a blast. Was in town from the east for SprintWeeks. Maybe because we don't have anything close to Whiteland around here, but I found it to be quite fun. Also the guys running the place that day were quite friendly. Chatted with a guy who also races there for about 10 to 15 mins. I'd go back in a heart beat!
