I would like to believe customers are not as ignorant (especially in the age of the internet) as Dateline would have you believe. When buying a car,the customer has the ultimate bargaining chip......the ability to get up and walk out of the dealership.

I agree but, the fact that they are trying to pull it in hopes of the customer not noticing says an awful lot about thier ethics. Bad.

It sure did look like him but can't imagine with all his money that he would still be working in a cubicle at the Ford dealership. Maybe he just happened to be there when the hidden cameras were running.

With all of the information available to anyone these days, how do you get screwed when buying a car?

I really do have a hard time feeling sorry for anyone who can't figure out how its done. Folks, here's a clue...

Of course, customers never, ever lie about anything either. You know, things like income, job title, ect.

I agree with you, Crispy. With all the info out there, it's tough to not know what your options are. Just the same, the report sounded pretty bad. Though, as usual, they only show the bad, never the decent, honest people working out there in the auto industry.

- this thread has gone 10 deep w/o somebody posting that the whole thing is a plot by the evil France family (NASCAR), which have the audacity to be succesful while CART is failing, to destroy its main corporate rival. That has to be a record for this board.
