Actually, this is nothing new. Steve Knapp financed his ROY Indy effort by selling shares of himself to friends and sponsors.

Could be an interesting idea though.

A few years ago all a guy would have needed to do is incorporate, call the Company IMARACECARDRIVER.COM and he would have raised enough $ for many seasons.

Hey, Jordon Musser (http://www.jordonmusser.com) put up "Sponsorship Options" up for himself on E-bay not too long ago...you could even get a return on investment, as he was offering a 1% return on his winnings for the year (or however long the sponsorship was). If I'd had $500 at the time, I'd have bought one. If sponsors aren't stepping up to the plate, I'm all for private citizens supporting our drivers. Brilliant idea.
