Forrest Bond is reporting today that IRL officials are concerned about the new banking and transitions at Homestead and are very strongly considering moving their season opener to Vegas. This would appear to be a win-win all the way around except for the OWRS folks who will look a little silly. If the IRL can put together a race at Vegas in a matter of a day or two, why does CART and OWRS have so much trouble?

The only problem with that situation is the closeness to the NASCAR date. Doesn't it occur in mid-March? The IRL may just be better off starting the seaon a little later at Phoenix anyway.It's a Hoosier thing, you wouldn't understand... -

The thing is the France Family still tries to humor Tony, and they pretend that offering free IRL tickets to their fans is a big deal.If the IRL can put together a race at Vegas in a matter of a day or two, why does CART and OWRS have so much trouble?Comment

I think they should bring back WDW.No weather forecasts are ever guaranteed, even if confidence level is high. Even a 99% probability will miss 1% of the time. That's the best anybody can do when predicting highly complex events.Comment

But, it could be said that those injuries were more of a result of the old chassis design than the track design. Also, SAFER barriers would help, and they didn't exist four years ago.It's a Hoosier thing, you wouldn't understand...Comment
