  • don't take this the wrong way ...

...question: does anyone ever think of the way the IRL has gone is somewhat similar to a biblical story. you know the story about a shepard who set the table for feasting. he set it for many but few showed up. when few responded to his invite he decided to open it up to all takers.

Tony George at one time had laid the spread out there for all teams big and small to join in. few small teams ever got to the level where they were self-sufficient w/o daddy'o's help. sometimes I can't help but wonder if some of you guys who I consider the VERY best racefans tend to forget that money eventually must talk in this game. it's sad that George can't fund the series like CART chose to do theirs this year, but then again look where their at now.

time will tell how this thing all pans out but this fan's not gonna stress over it. I hate to see us lose our favorite teams and drivers to a bunch of fast zinc-coated steel boxes, but hey, that's the deal. in my little bitty minded world I think George will make little adjustments along the way which will benefit the little teams more and more, without hurting the bigger teams in the process. some folks will then see this IS NOT CART 1995.

as you were, thanks for listening.

So long as its not CART Management circa 2001,

CART 1995 would actually be quite tough to match up to.

      trow,

I agree. The table was laid, and a LOT of people spent a LOT of money trying to BECOME big teams. Most failed (similar to most businesses), and now the IRL needs to find MORE little guys wanting to spend BIG money in hopes of sometimes becoming BIG GUYS.

Nope. But last Tuesday might have been the last supper.

Well, then, can we get the crucifixion over with already? I guess we can count on seeing CART rise from the dead in the form of the IRL.

That "IRL/Biblical" thing's already been done.

Tony George has been dubbed everything from Satan to Beelzebub, to The Great Hwhore of Babylon, to the dreaded Beast in St. John the Divine's Revelation.

IRL haters have just about covered the Biblical badguy map.
