  • Sarah ends up where?

In her final in-season ESPN.com diary, Sarah Fisher thanks fans for supporting her work.

Sounds like she has a few opportunities and will be in Miami. Where will she be?
16th and Georgetown, the greatest place on EARTH!!!

Kind of early to say right now. I'm sure once some things have cleared up sufficiently, rev-ed will post the next silly season update for next year.

I think Chevy might be interested. 3rd car at Panther? I would like to see it happen.

Sarah's funding comes from GM, so it will be will probably be with one of their teams. If it isn't D&R, and it isn't Menard, that leaves Cheever, Hemelgarn, PDM and Panther.

Considering that she dropped out of Butler University, I'd guess that Sarah ends up in community college.

I don't believe it will be Panther. Looks to me like Tomas, Taylor and an experienced driver that isn't Sarah in another car.

I don't believe it will be Cheever. That looks to be Barron in one car and Rice, if anybody, in a second and Eddie hisself in a third at Indy.

PDM? Maybe. Ed Carpenter is walking around with some money and a Fisher/Carpenter team with some help from GMAC might do very well.

Hemelgarn? I don't know. Might see Ron dial back to a one-car, Indy only deal like the old days.

As long as she draws young people to the track and to racing she's just fine with me!

                    Thats what I was thinking.

Wouldn't she be better off in the long run (as she's only 24) with a good IPS team than another year with D&R? With a good car, she could get more experience racing and contending for wins, plus she'd bring people to the MIPS races. For those who want to see her make history, she'd still do that if she wins, as no woman has won at that level yet. Plus, she'd still be there to drive Sabrina the Teenage Witch around Fontana in the two seater.

Of course, if Gannasi or Panther comes a' calling she should take it. But another year of running at the back, begging for sponsorship isn't good for her or the IRL.

Bombardier R142, I agree! Another year like this past one does her absolutely no good. A decision to take a step back and regroup could be of great benefit for Sarah.

I've often thought that Sarah just needs more seat time, whether that be in testing, Silver Crown, or whatever. At her age, it just doesn't seem like racing 16 times a year is enough.

She needs a mentor (Robby Buhl is/was a great one) at her new team, money, and a REAL engineer.
Why does TG ignore the best marketing opportunity he has?
                        I just don't get it.
He must not believe in her or he would get up and do something.
                        He must know.

Sadly I think you're right Mackie, a shame, because there are a lot of rideless drivers out there with a lot more talent(proven) than Sarah.
When I think that Sarah will get a seat and People like Buddy, Jaques, Al Jr, Jeff Ward, Billy Boat, are all going to be watching from the sidelines, I feel ill

If she was such a hot marketing oppty we would not even be having this discussion. Results are what counts and she has few. That's why she is not a viable commodity. Being feminine has nothing to do with the bottom line.

And to head off the usual spin: Even though some of her teams were not the best starting out, unlike drivers such as Hornish, Tracy, Kite, Hearn, etc, she was not able to elevate her game to make up the difference.
