    Thank you

    Dear friends,

I am propped up in my Dallas hospital bed trying to write you a race report. Unfortunately it will be a short one since I do not have the strength nor the imagination just yet.

Perhaps it does not matter so much because I do not remember anything from the race anyway!

In any case I felt I needed to write a note to all you fans, who have sent several thousand prayers via email to my team, the news papers, me and my wife. I never knew I had that much support but I will tell you that it has certainly helped me to get through this accident the best way possible.

I have not seen the actual accident but I have heard about it. It certainly opens your eyes about higher powers because I am sure that God has everything to do with me still being in this world, and if I would have had individual accidents braking all the bones I broke and healing during this accident I would not have had much time to be a racecar driver.! I broke 5 major bones and most of them are complicated, back, ankles etc.

The Dallas crew of doctors and nurses worked about 15 hours to put it back together. They did a great job and they think I have a good chance to get back to normal. I know it will take time, several months but give me half a chance and I will do it.

Now I will rest a little bit but I will see you soon!

    Kenny Brack

          OUTSTANDING!!

I've always liked this guy and when he was introduced as "The Sweede with the need for speed" I had a gut feeling he was going to win the 1999 Indianapolis 500.

          Get well soon Kenny!!!
For the record, I never had a problem with CART in 1995. Its when they turned beligerant twards IMS and their fans for supporting the IRL that turned me off them.

What's not to like about this guy? He doesn't need to talk the talk because he can really walk the walk.
                    Proud to be a complainer.

Back in the earlier days of the IRL, many of the drivers, especially Kenny, used to spend a lot of time around the media center. (I think that was because most media centers served better food than they were getting with their teams in those days, although AJ's team may have been the exception! ) Kenny was a true favorite of everyone, and came to know many by name. When he moved to CART, he resisted every attempt to bait him into saying negative things about the IRL. When he moved back to the IRL, he resisted the same baiting about CART.

He is the kind of class act that every race fan can be proud of.

He's the kind of class act who would, and did, take the time, just a little over a week after his accident, to thank all the fans for their prayers and wishes.

He will recover completely and, if it is his wish, will race again soon. Because the truth is this....God holds special favors for special people like Kenny Brack.

The fact that he took time to write a note to his fans at this time shows what kind of person he is. Have a speedy recovery, Kenny.
