I was wondering if many, if any, subscribe to the National Speed Sport News. Do you like it? If not. why? I especially like the new feature in Elbows Up, about the old timers of racing.

yes, i do...i think it's terrific...(i am a long-time subscriber). Chris Economaki is a legend (deservedly so), and i appreciate the wide range of coverage that they offer. truly great columnists, as well. i can't recommend it enough. if you are tired of the sub-par motorsports writing that so often turns up on the web, then NSSN is for you.

I love NSSN. I look forward to each issue. I have always found that its coverage is complete and as non-biased as possible. I think that it really showed its integrity this past week. Although mentioning the horrific crash that Kenny endured, not one picture was put in print. I'm sure those people who love racing "to see the wrecks" were disappointed in that. I, for one, applaud Chris Economaki and all the editors for that decision!"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."

In the 1960s and 1970s long before internet cable and USA Today there were many times where a race was run on Sunday but we wouldn't find the results until the following Thursday when NSSN came in the mail. They were a lifeline for racing info back then and still is a source of good information today.

I can't remember a time even as a child when NSSN wasn't in my household. Nowadays my dad and I "split" a subscription. When the Good Lord made Chris Economaki he surely broke the mold.
Like NoviVespa, I really enjoy "Elbows Up" - love the vintage era articles & the focus on the short track guys.#BCForever

I've been a subscriber for well over 30 years and I indeed consider it the "Bible of Racing!" It was one of the few publications that treated the IRL fairly early on.
Chris Economaki is the crown prince of racing journalists!Have a very blessed day!

Have been a subscriber for more than 20 years now. The best source for racing news as some above have said. And minus the PR flak hype machine stories that so many other 'glossy' magazines feature. Without an agenda or the uppity attitude featured in AUTOWEEK and with far more coverage. Before there was RPM2Night and SPEED it was THE place to hear about drivers who might be on their way up the ladder. The Ye Olde Editor's Notebook still has more behind the scenes information than anywhere, (except here maybe) and far more of it fact than opinion. The Public Forum used to be the best place to read outlandish, half baked, out of left field opinions that made you wonder what nimrod wrote that letter. Now we have Trackforum which wins by sheer volumn. And if you write to old Chris with some news that he didn't know he'll bang out a postcard on the old Underwood for you."You can't arrest those guys, they're folk heroes"
"They're criminals"
"Well most folk heroes started out as criminals"

I've been a subscriber for about 3 years and I love it. I used to get Autoweak, but I got sick of their anti-IRL bias. NSSN is waayyy better than Autoweak ever was."But another icy Indiana winter will come and go and before we know it, springtime returns and it will be May and the roar of engines will once again breathe life into the lazy Hoosier sky and bring us back together." -- Sid Collins
