Today I had the emotional privilege to sit center aisle Row One at the Lance Armstrong Tour of Hope. Ms. George was four seats to my right showing her support. Reggie Miller presented Lance another yellow jersey (a Pacers Jersey)
This day was an emotional tribute to the doctors and patients that have survived and provided care for cancer.
Lance used to be a brash cocky arrogant rider. Today, I saw a cancer survivior that happened to win a couple of bike races.
Viva Lance (and all survivors, including my 92 yr old granny who has twice beaten colon cancer).
The underlying message/ theme of the presentation was to get more cancer patients to undergo clinical trials. Only 5% do this, while hundreds of potential cures have yet to be tried due to the lack of test patients. Being a lab rat today might save the life of your child in the future.
Not as controversial as the Stem Cell research that Sam Schmidt requires, but just as important.
