    Sitting pole.
Holy buckets, but the boy is looking like he's got the juice tonight!

Don't know about "boney" but maybe "fast"??

    Good shows from:
    Giaffone (4th)
    Meira (6th)
    Brack (7th)
    Buhl (10th)

    Not so good from:
Hornish (12th) - Not worried about him, though.
    Kelley Racing (17th & 20th)
    Carpenter (22nd)

I swear it looked to me like Carpenter's front brake rotors were glowing orange when he went down the back stretch.

        They were.
I've got sources. I used to know a T-Shirt vendor at the Phoenix track.

interesting exchage on the scanner after he took P1...

paraphrasing..."P1 Gil, where'd that come from?"

            "Thanks, it felt really good"

"We told you you'd get all the good bits this week"

Gil chuckled...nice appreciative response from the crowd too.

So the league sabotaged Ed Carpenter's brakes?

There may have been a problem with the brakes, which after his good warm-up lap, resulted in his sudden drop in speed on the laps that counted.
