The deal or deals. Per your statement it would appear that a deal means a one car team for '04. I hope this is not the case. Especially after what I read on Taylor's testing yesterday.
Sort of makes you wonder about all the b-s we heard from Panther about some big test, with multiple drivers. Turns out it was a bunch of talk. Heck, we got folks here, just this morning claiming there’s a big test after the season with this or that driver. I guess not.
Just wondering if Yeley didn’t figure it out that the Panther “test” was big joke way before a bunch of people here did?
I would not be so concerned about an announcement of just one car at Texas. Panther has said they would be testing for a second seat. They have tested some already and plan to test more after the season. Hopefully the second seat comes to fruition and a driver is announced before too long.

Panther could not do such a test due to the tire testing rules it would not have been possible.
They were trying to test certain non-IRL drivers at the same time they were doing tests for the Fontana and Texas races.
Tomas Enge was tested at Fontana when Panther was testing for that race.
Mark Taylor just tested at Texas.
They talked about testing Townsend Bell (I believe at Texas) but I think he has decided to continue on a track to try to get to F1.
And they wanted to test JJ Yeley. I know of one of the Panther co-owners basically sold on Yeley after they flew him home from Nazareth.
Just because a driver was on the "list" Panther was considering it did not mean they were going to test with Panther - current IRL drivers probably were not going to have tests due to the tire limits (the IRL 'may' allow teams to test new drivers for 2004 without it counting against the tire limits).
I can think of two who are still in consideration for a Panther ride who have not had a recent Panther test.
edit: Panther4 was indicated in this thread out of error...see page 2 for appology and correction. Thank you crew chief for speaking up and Panther4 for contacting me via pm and letting me know about the error.
Originally posted by Area54 It is apparent to me, JJ didn't have a check and that is what this whole thing is about. No check, no test. How do you tell the IRL fans that JJ wouldn't pay to test, tell them that he failed to show up and that the team was on his side but, JJ let them down, yada, yada, yada.
Oh bruther. The facts regarding the Yeley fiasco are well documented. Your baseless conjecture is just plain silly, it's apparent you know nothing about Panther Racing and the way they conduct business.

I think that it is due to the fact that as Super Troll, your power of vision has been affected by visiting the land of the righteous here at Trackforum.
