In the battle for the IRL engine manufacturer's championship, only the top finisher for each engine manufacturer is scored in a 10-7-5 scoring system. Chevy currently trails Honda by 3 points and could finish 2nd to Toyota should Hornish win on Sunday (I'm assuming Chevy would win the tiebreaker by virtue of having more wins). Pretty unbelievable considering Chevy hadn't led a lap halfway into the season.
Also interesting to note that Toyota has never had it's top car finish behind both a Honda and Chevy. Toyota will also have won at least 10 of the 16 races by the end of the season, including consecutive win streaks of 4 and 3 races. Lastly, the only time Toyota has gone more than one race since winning has been Chicago and Fontana.
