  • What happened to Brack?

He was missing from the white truck as it paraded around the track during pre-race ceremonies, then during the race he faded. Couldn't find any explanation on indyracing.com.

I think Kenny is as talented a driver as he is a musician.

Just read on indystar that the had trouble getting fuel into the car. Don't they test these things before the race begins? I thought he would be up there with the leaders today.

Things just havent gelled at Rahal this year. Although its the same driver/engineer combination that got Kenny 4 CART wins in 2001 with a disadvantaged car (Cosworth power), they just cant seem to get a handle on the Dallara/Honda. I mean, I know the non-HRD Hondas are a little down on power, but i would have expected Kenny to at least pick up 1 win this season.

Oh, and i think its funny that people have already cast him in the same lot as Dario even though A) hes an Indy 500 winner (kinda like JV/JPM), B) an IRL Champion, and C) Ive never seen him badmouth the IRL to the media.

Having a bad season and/or racing in CART when it was still a powerhouse doesnt make you a bad person/driver, imho.

Kenny qualified second on the starting grid but you're saying he's down on HP?

Kenny is a top level driver but his team has let him down way too many times since Rahal came over to IndyCar racing.

He was horrible in Ganassi's CART equipment, and he's falling off pretty hard in Rahal's IRL equipment. I think his head got too big too quick at Ganassi, and he just hasn't gotten refocused again. He better though, father time doesn't stop.

There were a lot of times w/Ganassi where Kenny just couldn't buy a break. Portland comes to mind, running at the front only to leave the pits and have his left rear tire pass him under braking. But then again he made a bonehead move at Chicago last year trying to go 5 wide in turn 1 lap 1.
Who know's I think it's a combination of things but the biggest is it's not a 100% effort from Rahal. He's got two primary teams, one each in rival leagues, and resources are probably split between the two. Jourdain has had better success, granted against a weeker field.

                      Huh???

Kenny had a great string of top finishes until the past couple races. He has been there at the end several times, even when battling a poor handling race car through the early stages of races. They have struggled at times, but I'd say their struggles seem greater due to high expectations.

He doesn't need "defending", but they aren't exactly out to lunch. It's TOUGH OUT THERE!!!! Wins are only going to those with near perfect days.

Yesterday, there was a problem with a vent within the tank getting caught in the fueling buckeye. Took quite a few laps to fix, and as stated above, they were NOT able to fuel the car until that was corrected.

All that being said, Kenny and his team have been very pleasant and classy all season.
