    Amen
"I think of Indianapolis every day of the year, every hour of the day, and when I sleep, too. Everything I ever wanted in my life, I found inside the walls of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. I love it all, from the first to the last day in May. The moment that race starts is always the greatest moment of my life, and the day I win that race, it will be as if my life has ended. There is nothing more I could want out of life."

And if you can, give blood today.
"I didn't hear a single comment about airboxes, "carbashians", or how terrible the car looked. I did see dozens and dozens of little kids in awe of the speed and how cool the cars looked. We should learn from our children."

It's Indianapolis that made Camp and Brew what it is.

Matt reposted this last year. It's an interesting read.

            9/11/01 as it happened.

May all those who perished on that fateful day rest in peace.

May all those who planned, helped, and carried out the attacks be struck down and feel the pain they have caused the victims of the tragedy.

May God protect our troops abroad who continue to protect us from those who wish us harm.

May God bless this country and our President.
The transformation is complete. The Indy 500 is the only IndyCar race that matters.

When I remember 911 I'll always feel the shock and sadness, but I'll also always remember the hope and inspiration just two weeks later when tens of thousands of citizens from around the world raised their little American flags at the start of the USGP.

As a family member of one of the firemen killed in the North Tower, I just wanted to say, "Thank You" to all of you for remembering. It does matter to us. And it does help to know that others share our loss. This isn't exactly the topic that I wanted to use for my first post, but it certainly may have been the most important. Godspeed to all of you. May God continue to watch over our country, our leaders, the FDNY and all service personnel, the military, and all the average, hardworking people who make this country the greatest country in the world.

I've mentioned before that I was working at a market on 9/11. We vendors were listening to the radio and the TV and following the situation, aware of the magnitude of what was happening. The shoppers were oblivious to everything. When told what had happened, they continued on as if not wanting to be bothered with the news. I had to tell countless people where the World Trade Center is. They were too involved in their own little world -- comfortably ignorant. By closing time, the gas lines were endless and I assume these people finally realized that indeed they would be affected.

I hope we never get too comfortable again.
