Yes, Dave Despain, on Wind tunnel tonight, said there are 15 names on the list for the Panther team to check out. I sure hope that at least 1/2 of them are from the good old US of A!

I hope at least half of them have been to a short track!

A list of five or six names would be more than enough:

Barron, Boat and Herta for one seat.
Yeley and Steele (perhap Kahne if available) for the other.

I hope Tracy is not one of the 15 .

What have you got against Hines?

            So did Barnes IIRC.

Wonder if Kite's on the list?

I'm done in giving my idea of who Panther Racing will be hiring to replace Hornish next year. Right now I'm batting at zero in giving my ideas on what driver is going where. Kind of reminds me of a weather forecast that no weatherman can predict.

...in addition to the aforementioned Yeley, Steele, Boat, Barron & Herta, I'll bet Jimmy Vasser is one of them too........and Robby McGehee and Jaques & Buddy Lazier and Jeff Ward and.....

                    In no particular order...

                    1) Barron
                    2) J. Lazier
                    3) B. Lazier
                    4) Boat
                    5) McGehee
                    6) Dare
                    7) Hearn
                    8) Ward
                    9) Yeley
                    10) Steele
                    11) Hines
                    12) Taylor
                    13) Enge
                    14) Hunter-Reay
                    15) Vasser

... or at least that's my working hypothesis.

My hunch is that the #4 belongs to Alex if he wants it. But with the rumored second car, Barnes might just surprise us. I just hope he keeps in mind that the fastest guy in a test session isn't always the best racer. (See: "Scheckter")
                    Quit whining. Enjoy the racing.

I think you're right on about 10 of your names but I would scratch Vasser and Ward and perhaps Dare and Enge. You might add Alex Mueller, Jimmy Kite and Ed Carpenter. There may also be a truck or Busch guy getting a look as well. Leffler?

Pennzoil will probably have a say in who they hire, as will GM........

Tony Stewart, Robbie Gordon, Gil de Ferran.

...I just read something, somewhere that basically said that Chevy was going to be playing a role in the search for a new driver.

I beleive I also read somewhere that Chevy had some kind of ownership role with Panther?!

                              Maybe 15 letters.......

                              Dale Earnhardt Jr.

He is not under contract and for some reason, he has always struck me as more of an Indycar type of guy than a NASCAR type.
