when sam is announced prior to the race,

    BOO.

    like you've never boo'd before.

if you don't, the world will think we don't care.

show him, and the world, that we do.

the fact is ,he's the best driver the irl has ever had.

and he's going to race those dam taxicabs.

    what a cryin shame.

so I guess we'll just do nothing. what exactly would be wrong with letting him know what we think of his decision?

it's like when roger clemens went back to fenway in a yankees uniform.

the fenway faithful reacted with glee whan the red sox beat the tar out of him his first time starting against the red sox.

like it or not, and whether sam wants to take responsiblity for it or not, he's hurting this series thru his decision.

      boo .

what the heck else can you do ?

      not go?

decide not to support the irl anymore?

      nah.

just boo him and support the series. there will be another sam hornish.

if he wants to be a nobody in nascar good for him.

          I'm with nitrofan.

          If you care, DO SOMETHING.

          Make a banner.

          Make a shirt.

If you have the chance to talk to him and can act like an adult, say something positive to him about staying.

Will it have an effect? Perhaps not. But then again, doing nothing will have the same effect also.

Booing to me is childish, first off, like them or not these guys put their life on the line to entertain us the fans, unlike a Roger Clemens. Secondly a boo comes across as a boo of the team, Panther has done what they can and it isn't there fault.

I agree more with you mnkywrch, make a banner that says "please stay" or "why, sam, why ?" if you want. Or in a civilized adult way tell him you are disappointed at the autograph session or when you see him walking around. But be respectful that it is his life to decide what to do with.

              Is it May yet ?

                "Why?"

Well, I've seen all kinds of blame as to why Hornish is bailing, but, nobody seems to want to place the blame squarely where it belongs...on the IRL..

Funny, but all I've seen is that Sam will not be with Panther Racing next season...

You may be right, but, don't bet the rent that he'll be in the IRL next year...

Hey, why don't you grownups moon him while you're at it?

This whole booing thing seems rather childish to me. I took great pleasure in watching Sam beat Penske last year, why would I want to boo him now? If Sam is doing what Sam really wants to do with his life, I say good for him. As Doc Austin reminds us, your life can change in a second, make the most of it.

I also think loyalty in the world of big business sport is only wishful thinking.

I think only the young females at the race should moon him. Lets see where did I put that plane ticket?

If you care one little bit, you should boo, make banner's, make shirts, etc to show your displeasure. Acting like childish never stopped people from booing any driver they disliked, so why is any different for booing a driver that we LOVE who turned his back on us. The IRL made Sam and he is turning his back on us. He is a sellout and us IRL fans should show our displeasure. Also, everyone should avoid the Sam Hornish line at the Autograph sessions. He is a sellout to the almighty $. I will be making a shirt for the Texas race, by then it will be to late, but I will have something to show that I am very displeased with him walking out of the IRL.

Here is hoping that Christian Fittipaldi, Todd Bodine, Steve Park, Jimmy Spencer, Kyle Petty and the other back marker's make you look foolish.
16th and Georgetown, the greatest place on EARTH!!!
