Kentucky Track Surface

Looking at the rough surface at Kentucky, it reminded me that Michigan used to have the same problem, until they used some new type of paving material back around 1995 or so.

I wonder if the folks at Kentucky have taken a look at what other tracks have done?

IIRC, it's two different scenarios.

MIS' problem stemmed from the extreme freeze / thaw cycles of the winter.

Kentucky's problems go back to the base the track is constructed on - clay.
