Childress said that he would like to align with a IRL team. Panther was mentioned by Despain and RC didn't deny talking with Barnes. RC said that he would like to be able to share technology like Penske and Ganassi do with Cup and IRL teams. Also said that he would like to be able to share sponsorship between the Cup and IRL teams.

Not a 'smartie-pants' remark but, with that logic, maybe he should consider bringing another Cup team with him, then.

Sounds a little bit like what Andretti/Green did last winter with 7-11, Motorola, Jim Beam, Klein Tools, Archipelago, etc... They ran 3 full-time IRL teams and a 4th at Indy. Maybe Panther/RCR could do the same. I am sure Chevy would get behind this effort. Maybe that is why Panther is planning on testing so many drivers for next year. Boat, Taylor, Carpenter, Steele, among others have been mentioned. If Sam stays (which is still a big if), maybe they will be testing for 2 cars and not 1.

BTW, Helio is coming up next on Windtunnel.

Did he say 'back to the yellow', or 'past the yellow'?

I saw the segment. the sharing of the sponsors, Yee Hah!!!

The sharing of the technology, what does this entail? What technology does NASCAR use that could improve the IRL and what technology does the IRL use that could improve his NASCAR effort? If we are talking engine stuff, does the current mfg climate in the IRL coupled with the current NASCAR rules allow any trickle down to NASCAR, assuming the technolgy is transportable?
