  • How did Tomas lose

    the Superstars competition?

He won four of five events on the first day with only two remaining, which I missed yesterday. Must have been a really big wall he ran into???

I heard he was docked some time in a jet-ski race, but ...

He even scored points in the basketball competition, won by a swimmer???

One thing IndyCar got big props on CBS from Tomas performance on Saturday - And there was no confusion about what American series he was from -

Not bad on a bike either.

What irks me (maybe its too soon for the truth), DW was a 16-oval WIN specialist, yet the vast majority those boohooing for him, hardcarders & fans, alike are the same ones trying to kill anything with more than 9 deg banking & 4 corners, where Dan ultimately made his home...

There were a limited number of events you can compete in. I think you could only participate in 5 of the 7 events. On the first day, Tomas competed in most of them and the guy who eventually won the whole thing sat out a couple of them. On the second day, Tomas had to sit out one them while the other guy competed in both of them and won both. Tomas being docked points for that jet-ski incident didn't help things much either.

hmmmmmmmmmm, wins 5 of 7 events and still loses the championship? Sounds like a points system used by a racing series doesn't it?

Probably because he is a Superstar from the neck down only. A better question is how he got in it in the first place. How much money did he win?

          Tomas got totally hosed.

He got killed in the 1/2 mile run, scoring no points.

Then it was his final event ( each persons gets 7 events), the SEA*DOO watercraft race. He was set. But he was penalized 5 seconds for getting "out of his lane" although there were no markers for lanes.

With the penalty he finished last and got no points. Without the penalty his time would have been second quick and good for a spot in the final. He would have gotten many points, all he needed were two.

I guess the powers that be just did not want to see a race car driver show up all their precious gold medalists and NFL players.

"out of his lane" - Is that anything like into the wall? At least on the race track the "lane" is marked by a wall, unfortunaley for some.
Congradulations to him for the fine job he did representing the IRL in the competition.

I heard he put his jetski owner in the wall.

                  A Mark C headline?

                  IRL DRIVER CHEATS -
In every event Tomas Sheckter participated in, the crowd, in its entirety, got up and left. Furthermore, this Superstar competition had a 0.0002% lower rating as last year, proving once more the IRL is evil.

Personally, I think it's kind of amazing he was (a) chosen, and (b) actually did well.
